Add Full Repudiation Of Corporate Personhood To S.J.Res.19 And Pass It

A majority of Senators are now committed to the language of S.J.Res.19 as it is, which would at least address the money as speech crisis, and that's a good thing, and at least this much needs to pass immediately.

But everyone knows that S.J.Res.19 still does not fully correct for the constitutional error of the Supreme Court in granting artificial business entities like corporations all the natural rights of real persons.

Yes, S.J.Res.19 recognizes that corporations can be distinguished for the purposes of spending money to influence elections, so this represents rejection of corporate personhood at least in this context. But there is no justification for treating corporations identically to natural persons for any purpose. And to correct for all the Supreme Court's errors S.J.Res.19 should state this plainly as well.

Now that S.J.Res.19 has overcome the filibuster and will be debated on the Senate floor, we call on our Senators in debate to make a particular point of calling for full repudiation of corporate personhood as well.
