There were no terrorists in Iraq to go to war AGAINST, except ones the Bush and Cheney themselves elevated by their reckless occupation. And continuing the occupation there will just breed two more local insurgents for every one they pick off in a photo-op bombing.
It's time for Congress to fufill the promise of the November elections to stop the war in Iraq, and the only assurance we have that they will actually do that is if we CONTINUE to call and write them, again and again, until they finally realize we in fact expect them to do it.

ACTION PAGE:
TELL CONGRESS WE MUST HAVE PAPER BALLOTS AS THE OFFICIAL RECORD OF OUR ELECTIONS
Before Congress commits another huge corrupted blunder in the name of "reforming" our election system, we must raise our voices to demand a return to paper ballots. It is not just that the more computer voting equipment they install the more outlandish and improbable are the final results. The basic problem is that computerized voting is NOT compatible with a secret ballot.
Information technology people point to computerized banking and ask why we can't have the same thing in our vote counting. Except that when you deposit 10 cents in your bank account, and 10 cents doesn't show up, YOU know it. But there is no way for an individual citizen, or anybody, to verify that their vote was accurately counted once it gets lost in a computer memory bank. And once that happens, there is nothing to effectively recount, even in the case of gross error or malfeasance.
From this we know that only paper ballots can be trusted with our secret votes. Anything less is just courting even greater disasters in the future.
