Action pnum569 Last 25 Messages Transmitted Log No escalation in Iraq ********** [074916:053007] R.S., Summersville, WV These insane Dictators in the White house must be stopped, ********** [105711:042407] D.B., Cornwall Bridge, CT I really belive that the only way to stop the insanity is to IMPEACH BUSH AND CHENEY! ********** [084144:022807] F.E., New Hartford, NY I am sincerely requesting that you reclaim the U.S. government for the people, we the voters. For ONE time let us enact some ligislation that is not geared toward increasing profits and prestige for what President Eisenhower called the "military-industrial complex" that he feared could one day take control in ways that would dismantle our democracy. His fear is now happening. Instead of simply expanding our military budget to even greater amounts, more than all ather countries combined, I beg you to support and enact the legislation to create the Dept. of Peace, which provides our nation with the ability to live up to its values and principles, and our spirit/beliefs. Ther ARE ways to solve disagreements other than with violence, whether it is a dispute between teen gangs, a married couple, a few of our states, other nations, world regions, races, religions, etc. We CAN do it with your help. We need YOU. I pray that you will use your mind, heart, and soul when reviewing this important legislation. Our world needs to finally begin to make a conscious choice toward dealing with differences, needs, problems in new ways that protect life, give assistance to others, and promote all people caring for all other people. We are one planet and the human race is one. Let us (U.S.) initiate the process to move or evolve to a higher level. A small percentage of the Military budget could be used to support so much good for the lives of people, the environment and image or reputation of our country and its people. Thank you. ********** [105816:021107] E.S., San Diego, CA Thank you for voting for a resolution opposing Iraq's debacle. ********** [104328:020407] m.h., Camden, NY maintain the seperation of powers,in accordance to the U.S. CONSTITION, and cease the selection to the judicial branches via the executive branch within the house of congrees ********** [182141:020307] N.I., Syosset, NY My son just returned home from the Army, he was stationed in Iraq. Even though he was discharged after 5 years, he told me they can call him back. ENOUGH!! Enough of a war that is privatized to the point of draining our country's reserves. This war is just greed, take a look at Halliburton..... and the other contractors over there. Our young people are dying so these companies can make BILLIONS. And we are paying dearly with our taxes. ********** [205217:012907] D.I., New York, NY If President Bush insists on making this escalation and goes against the will of we the people of the United States, he needs to be impeached and removed from office. ********** [203751:012807] F.J., Boston, MA Bush has given us nothing but rhetoric, how do you expect us to believe anything he has to say. Let alone, any one who goes along with what he has to say? ********** [203620:012807] L.S., Parachute, CO Dear Congressmen, This president must be stopped. Please say NO to the esclalation of the Iraq war. After a resolution saying no, please stop the money to pay for escalation. Or legislate that the money can only be used for reconstruction. This president listens to no one, fires Generals that disagree and looks for people who will do his bidding. He is NOT king. Pleasebe strong and take action. The Am. people are behind you or in front of you since they voted for change. We only increase our status as imperialists--we are what they say we are. Violence begets violence. The Iraqi people can't possibly have any faith in us. They are dying by the thousands. Please stop this madness. redeploy our troops over the next year. Offer a helping hand instead of guns to people. ********** [051127:012707] J.W., Kingsley, MI "For all his babble about conditions on the ground, and listening to the generals on the GROUND, he has just canned or reassigned all who opposed his proposed new military escalation in Iraq, and is instead importing a guy from on the WATER from the other side of the globe. He literally had to look that far to find an ambitious sycophant craven enough to sign onto his increasingly desperate folly." I'm sorry, but I had repaste this. It's both amusing and scary. Please, won't somebody stop this man, already? ********** [125751:010807] L.H., Tucson, AZ Congress must do all it can to stop this senseless waste of American lives and money! NO troop escalation! Start bringing them home! ********** [125253:010807] R.S., Sisters, OR "Surge" is a failed strategy, and to pursue it is to exemplify a paucity of imagination. The alternative is NOT "cut and run"...it is to redeploy sensibly, fighting OUR enemies and protecting our interests in the Middle East. ********** [091258:012407] B.B., Madison, WI After watching the President's speech last night, I realized that the majority of people attending, (minus a few for example Mrs. Clinton), were enthralled with him - treating him like he was a movie star or king (oh, I forgot, that is what he thinks he is) and what was all that clapping about (like he said anything that he will follow through with except the war of course). If you absolutely disagree with the man, why are you all clapping like he is the greatest??? That clapping went way beyond just showing respect (and why would anyone respect him?) No wonder he does whatever he pleases with no respect for the American People or you in Congress. I want you to put a stop to this madman. I am getting very angry with the whole political scheme of things. I want Congress to get some backbone and put a stop to his craziness and stop his plans of more deplorement. Also, what is this he is talking about setting up another reserve-like branch of volunteers.....would that include murderers and an assassins squad from thugs on the street or does he plan on opening the draft again? I have read that the standards have been dropped already in requirements for entering the armed services in order to get the number of enlistements needed. It is kind of scary that one would lower the standards yet to another lower level. Would this branch of the services be called the Renegade Squad? I also loved the Vice President's smirk on his face throughout the whole speech. What was that all about. Oh, I know, He thinks we are all fools and he is the Assistant to the King. He thinks he is in the "winners circle". History will show him later that he was no winner and never was. Please do not be afraid of this madman and stop him from deploring more troops and bring all our troops home NOW, not a year from now. Please sign the resolution and stop the funding for the war. He has caused so much damage on world views toward us and I believe that pulling our troops will be a sign for the better, not looked as a failure. There are more terrorists now because of him than ever before. Why doesn't he go over there and track some down? Kill one and 300 hundred more pop up. He has us on a path of destruction. What about our grandchildrens' futures. I am really worried about them. I believe Bush's ego and fear of being known in the future as a failure of a president is what is keeping him from changing his decisions. He got our country into this war and I believe he is going to fight until the last person is killed (just like in the movies). He is not in his right mind, I am sure of that. He doesn't want to be known as a quitter or a loser and he will keep on going until you stop him. As anyone can see, there is no winning in Iraq even if their government steps up to the plate more. I am absolutely alarmed how he doesn't listen to anyone or take others official military advice, but dismisses everyone if they don't agree with him and plugs on in his crazy way. The American people are behind you and are JUST WAITING FOR YOU TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT HIM. IF HE DOESN'T LISTEN TO YOU OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, PLEASE START IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDURES NOW!!! ********** [113624:012307] J.W., Rome, GA Only when our troops are withdrawn will the Iraq government take full responsibility for controlling violence. ********** [075829:012307] L.K., Rocky Mount, NC How much longer will it take for the President to realize that this war is over and young men and women are dying for nothing! I and so many others are sick of this war especially when we have major problems here at home to solve. Listen to the people who for once!! ********** [065257:012207] A.B., Miami, FL This is a ridiculous war, waged by a ridiculous President. I am sick to death hearing about all the outrageous activities of this imposter, and tired of sending emails and trying to raise awareness with no results. Bush ought to be impeached; his actions are completely unconstitutional. ********** [090546:012107] R.L., San Jose, CA Muslims have historically regarded themselves as a world-wide community. The presence of foreign, non-muslim troops in a Muslim country is regarded as an affront to all Muslims. Our troops in Iraq are inflaming the populations of all Muslim countries. We must engage the neighboring countries in finding a solution to the ethnic violence. Removing our troops will be part of any solution. ********** [234230:012007] M.M., Fort Bragg, CA Congress will gain respect and support of the people ONLY if they can stand up to the Jingo King and his Infamous Band of Ice Weasels. NOW is the time. Just DO IT. ********** [153114:012007] S.M., Pine Grove, CA I am against the troop surge. Bush does not even want to win this war, he just wants chaos in the middle east, so he can have his rapture sooner. Adding 21,000 new troops is like putting a band-aid on a shot gun blast wound. ********** [131404:012007] L.M., Minneapolis, MN Which part of "no surge" is difficult for you to understand, Congress? Stop the Iraq nonsense, and do not let the Administration start a war in Iran, either. The American people have spoken, so please listen to us! That's how it works in a democracy -- remember?!? You and the Administration work for US, not the other way around. ********** [234104:011907] s.r., Seattle, WA My son has been to Iraq twice, was shot at, had friends killed, and even though he is back, I still can't stand to see pictures of soldiers in Iraq, or their families. Don't make us sacrifice any more of our children. ********** [222418:011907] G.H., La Grange, IL Voting for a resolution to oppose escalation in Iraq would be a second best action by legislators, unless the resolution were binding. A better option is to withhold funds for escalation, but to continue to support the troops that are already in Iraq. ********** [162824:011707] c.c., Southgate, MI We don't need to send any more troops to Iraq, just start a slow troop withdrawal, it's time for the Iraqs to accept responsibility for their government. ********** [112931:011707] w.d., Fort Worth, TX It is time for the Bush Administration to stop playing games with American people. His party already payed a heavy price for following the disastrous Bush policies, which have been a complete failure, and has all but destroyed Americas credibility and standing in the world. The Iraqi war was an illegal war, driven byarrogance, incompetence and a group of power-hungry Neo-Cons; who only cares about their ideology and the acqusition of more and more oower at the expense of human rights, privacy, ethics, economy, the American image, and the economic health of the middle-class. In my opinion, Bush should be Impeached and America should not be applologetic about it, just like the GOP , who never appolologized for impeaching Bill Clinton; who never sent any of our soldiers to be killed in a foreign country. We realkly should bring the troops home, or consider impeaching Bush. ********** [101652:011707] T.M., Venice, CA No more hard earned tax money for Bush's failed Iraq oil war! Bush and Cheney are madmen who care nothing for The Constitution or the will of the American people. Please DO NOT fund any more of this senseless killing. ********** |
