Amend H.R. 811 to require paper ballots

The former American Dietetic Association, now the ADN, has unfortunately been funded and compromised by major food conglomerates and Big Ag.

Their recommendations are no longer unbiased and by definition of stated mission , a "one size fits all" message for the country's citizens.
Clinical nutritionists, such as Certified Clinical Nutritionists (CCN) and other licensed clinical nutritionists, are working from a functional and thus individualized perspective. They have no financial ties to food companies, and truly are able to stick to the science.
Sadly, this is not the case with registered dietitians and other designations that fall under their governing board's umbrella.

They are required to only utilize the food pyramid and not think 'out of the box' in their consultations and recommendations.
A perfect example of this is that hospital and school food is usually abysmal-in taste AND nutrition. Not to mention how ketchup became a vegetable.

PLEASE do NOT let them become a monopoly on nutrition. They have played a role in this country's soaring obesity and disease rates.

Thank you for reading and considering my comments.

Paper ballots are the only proof we can have that an election is true and profit from elections should be a prosecuted crime.

The neo-con nazis (oh oops I mean the Republican Party) have stolen the last 2 presidential elections in 200 and 2004. We the Dems can not let this happen again.

It is imperative that paper ballots replace electronic voting. It worked in this counrty for about 200 years and it is the least expensive of any form of voting. Election workers and judges are volunteers.
We also need to do away with the Electoral College. The concept is antiquated and is not used by any modern industrialized nation.

Sincerely,

Hill Nagrodski

A paper ballot is the only way to verify one's vote. WE need consistancy is all states, or else an election cannot be valid. Please support paper ballots in every state.

Thank you.

It is critical to give the choice of nutrition choices to the people. There are other practitioners that are just as, if not more qualified, to assist our population with nutrition consultations.

Thank You

I am not sure that I would enjoy the good health that I have today without the care of my nutritionist. I spent years going from doctors and dieticians trying to eliviate pain and depression. They treated me with medication that only made me worse and put me on diets that failed. They kept telling me that I was fine and it was all in my head and the medicine should help. It did not. At the advice of a friend, I went to my current nutritionist who addressed the source of my problems, food allergies and hormone imbalances, using natural supplements and a diet reducing certain foods that I was sensitive to. That was one year ago and I have never felt better in my entire life. I lost 35 lbs. and am now without any pain and very active. Please allow myself and others like me to continue our freedom to choose healthcare through a nutritionist. I never want to return my previous circumstances.

While the State does some things well, I don't believe that legislators are in a position to decide for consumers how their options for care should be limited. I realize that the ideas of wellness and nutrition are a financial threat to the medical and drug industries, who pay quite well. Please allow individuals to continue to have the right to choose from a full range of options according to their preference.

Gentlemen - please do everything in your power to make sure there is a paper trail from our voting machines. Too many times we hear of citizens whose votes were lost be the electronic wonder voting machines. Bring back paper ballots or a viable paper readout from the votring machines. It is a crime that peoples votes are being lost and not counted thanks to modern electronics and unscrupulous politicians. Lets make sure all votes are counted in 2008. Thank you.

We NEED clinical nutritionists practicing among us. We have the right to choose from those we feel answer our health needs. Dieticians are NOT the only ones who know about nutrition. If they were then there would be no need for everyone else. This is violation of our rights as Americans to choose. The dieticians are opposed to this bill for two reasons: ego and money. Neither have a place in the health of Texas!!

YES! YES! YES! We need to restore and keep ALL of our FREEDOMS upon which this country was founded. As a nurse and naturopath, I believe that all adults have the right to decide from whom they receive nutrition advice.

I am presently under the care of a clinical nutritionist, and it has been a real benefit for my health. I believe this field of work is totally different from a dietician's, and the public should have the right to choose who they would like.

I write to request a 'YES' vote on both HB 1942 and HB 3056. Many people experience health benefits from therapeutic nutritional guidance and supplementation. There are many dedicated, competent practitioners--who are not dietitians--who devote themselves to providing clinical nutrition for their clients. It would be a shame to deny people the freedom to choose the type of nutritional care that they receive. I respectfully request that you vote to support HB1942 and HB3056. Thank you--Caren Coe, Austin TX

This the most important issue currently in need of addressing in our democracy. Everything else we do stems from the ability to trust our vote.

I have been using a licensed clinical nutritionist for the past 2 years and have experienced a significant improvement in my overall health. In my opinion, there are many advantages and benefits for consumers in seeking the services of a licensed clinical nutritionist. Please vote YES on HB 1942 Licensed Clinical Nutritionists Title Act.

I am requesting as a constituent that you vote Yes for HB 1942 and Yes for HB 3056 in my behalf. I appreciate and thank you in advance for protecting my rights to choose the nutritional healthcare professional of my own choice. The Licensed Clinical Nutritionists Title Act HB 1942 will establish licensing in Texas for the nutritional healthcare professionals I choose to assist myself, family and our citizens in improving the nutritional biochemistry (i.e., health) of each individual.
