There were no terrorists in Iraq to go to war AGAINST, except ones the Bush and Cheney themselves elevated by their reckless occupation. And continuing the occupation there will just breed two more local insurgents for every one they pick off in a photo-op bombing.
It's time for Congress to fufill the promise of the November elections to stop the war in Iraq, and the only assurance we have that they will actually do that is if we CONTINUE to call and write them, again and again, until they finally realize we in fact expect them to do it.

ACTION PAGE:
TELL CONGRESS TO SUPPORT AMERICAN WORKERS FOR A CHANGE
What is it about American workers that Republicans hate so much? Is it the fact that they make any money at all? Was their attempted filibuster of the cruelly delayed minimum wage increase not enough? Why else would they announce today that they will VETO any attempt to actually implement the 9/11 Commission Recommendations to PROTECT our country unless they strip out the right for those who protect us to join a labor union?
So just so we understand them perfectly clearly, the protections that they did everything possible to prevent from being implemented when they had the majority in Congress, the protections that NEVER would have been implemented at all if they had their way, they're afraid that a union would be so unpatriotic as to interrupt THOSE vital protections at some time in the future. Well now, if a labor union would be so unpatriotic as to do something like that, how TREASONOUS would it be for a member of Congress to vote against putting these measures into effect in the first place?! Don't they have any mirrors in the U.S. Congress? They better find one and take a good hard look into it.
Don't you dare. Don't even think about it. Why is it that ALL the sacrifices in their so-called terror war have to be made exclusively by the little people? Why is it that every threat to our country is just another excuse to pile tax gifts on the wealthy and gut the services for the poor? Why is there even a single Republican holding elective federal office anywhere in the country? You keep the union protections in the bill and you make them stick. And while they're at it, the House of Representatives needs to pass H.R 800, the Employee Free Choice Act. We the people have spoken.
The one click form below will send your personal message to all your Members of Congress selected below, with the subject "Leave labor union protections in the antiterror bill S. 4 and H.R. 800." At the same time you can send your personal comments only as a letter to the editor of your nearest local daily newspaper if you like.
